Postpartum Care – Home Visits

Birth can be a wonderful experience, but often there are elements of a birth that can leave parents in a dysregulated state.  Your baby is still part of the field, just as he or she was when you were nurturing them in your womb, and as part of this field they will be regulating from your nervous system.  When we just leave parents to cope with a new baby so much can be raw.  There is a reason why so many cultures have a period of time (normally 40 days) when mother and baby are nurtured, giving time for landing, bonding and regulation.

I think we have so much to sort out in the system we have created for birthing, where so many decisions are based on fear of outcome or litigation.  My passion is to ease experiences before they become layers that we see in life.  Holding the space for this is done in postpartum visits, and in the running of circles.  With a C-section rate of around 50% in the UK at the moment there is plenty of scope for improvement.

I offer postnatal home visits so you can receive support in the comfort of your own space after the birth of your baby. There is no additional travel cost if you are within 10 miles of Saffron Walden. If you are further afield, I’m very happy to travel – just get in touch and we can agree a reasonable travel fee.

Alongside individual postnatal visits, I also offer a more comprehensive care package. This includes a pre-agreed number of visits of at least 90 minutes each, designed to support both mother and baby during this important transition.

These sessions draw on a range of gentle, nurturing approaches including craniosacral therapy (with post-birth fascial and visceral techniques), herbal support, wraps, steams, and homeopathy.  These approaches are completely personalised, I will listen to your experiences and we will do whatever seems to be appropriate.    Together, these treatments help create a calm, supported “landing” into your new relationship and family life.

We can also gently address and unwind any challenges arising from the birth or early integration period. Supporting these early experiences can make a meaningful difference, helping to prevent patterns from carrying forward into later childhood and beyond.

Costs vary depending on your location and travel time. Payment doesn’t need to be made all at once – we can discuss a plan that works for you when we design your package.
